This is exactly what it says it is on the tin, a quick shot review. Over my time as a vegan (and some part of my non-vegan life) I have come across books, films, documentaries and other things that have played a part in my journey. These reviews are to wet your whistle a little.
The China Study by Dr Colin Campbell is a groundbreaking study conducted over many years into the effects of diet on various, often considered deadly, illness such as diabetes, cancer and more. Dr Campbell uses The China Study to delve into the world of plant-based diet. He does not refer to this as being Vegan though, this is purely a scientific study into the benefits of plant-based diets.
The book itself is not for the faint of heart considering its length and abundance of scientific data, but this really shouldn’t put you off. You will find the subject matter relatively easy to understand and the speed of reading will be akin to your most binge-worthy author.
I have often found myself in discussion with non-vegans wishing I had some facts to back up my point of view. The China Study is that and more. Not only will you find this book to be the bible you can base your plant-based lifestyle on, but it will open up many more things you didn’t know.
The only thing you will be left wondering is how to get this into the hands of everyone!
